Oh, Oregon. (Part 1)

Oh, Oregon.

Day 1: Fall in love. My soul is kissed with the ocean spray and wrapped up in fog. Southwest Oregon is exactly what I imagined, exactly what I was hoping for. Green, green, gray and blue.

Mist-kissed, as is my soul
We found our first Oregon camping spot outside Gold Beach, along a gravel bar on the Rogue River. It's a free camp spot where local fisherman park their RV's and rise early for the catch. We were obvious about not being there for the fishing, but it was lovely.

Day 2: Continue North and bathe in the mist on Port Orford. We let Rumi run free, chasing us and dodging the tide. We found some cramped but happy shellfish homes, huge boulders covered in community. We got sandy and wet and ate sandwiches in Scampi after our feet had dried.
